Class at Harlingen Church. It will run for three or four Sundays – and will be
held in the church lounge for 45 minutes after our morning worship.
We met Nov 16,30. Final meeting 12/7.
This class will meet again in Jan, 2015.

December Newsletter: The deadline to submit articles for our December newsletter is Monday, December 1st. This is later than usual because of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Happy Birthday: Did you know that Carolyn Dixon will celebrate her 100th birthday on Sunday, November 30th. Well, it’s true! So, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she celebrates this singular milestone. Happy birthday, Carol!
Thanksgiving Sunday: November 23rd is Thanksgiving Sunday. Please join us as we give thanksgiving to God for His blessings upon us! James 1:17 tells us that “every good and perfect gift comes from above.”
The pilgrims gave thanks to God. What about us?
Luncheon after church on Sunday, November 23rd: All are welcomed. No need to bring anything, just stay and enjoy the meal!
Stewardship Month: November is “Stewardship Month” at Harlingen Church. During this month members and friends of HRC will be encouraged to make a “financial commitment” to HRC for 2015. Every local Christian congregation depends upon its members and friends to support their church with their financial gifts. The biblical standard is the “tithe” – 10 %. So, how will you support your church in 2015?
Guest Preacher at Harlingen Church Rev Joy Kulvicki will be the guest preacher at HRC on Sunday, November 9th . Pastor De Young will be on vacation next week.

At 10am Sunday, October 26th we presented the 2014 Mission Trip Report. 8 Adults and 15 Youth participants went to Rochester, NY from June 29 – July 5th this past summer. Sunday they shared their trip with us.

Fall Rummage Sale: Friday, October 24, 8:00 - 5:00 & Saturday, October 25, 8:00 - noon (Bag Sale Day): Donations will be accepted Sunday, October 19, noon - 5:00, Mon and Tues, 9:00 - noon & 3-6pm. Please, no mattresses, TV’s, computers, baby cribs or car seats or large, overstuffed furniture. Donations are needed from the congregation for the Operation Christmas Child Sunday School project: Every shoe box we send is an opportunity to touch a child's heart with the love of Jesus Christ. Donated items should easily fit into a standard size shoe box. The boxes will be filled on Sunday, October 19th. There is a box that looks like a Christmas package in the church house for all donations. Thank you in advance for helping us with this program.
Suggestions for items needed are:
SCHOOL SUPPLIES: pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc. Toys: small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, toys that light up or make noise, etc.
HYGIENE ITEMS: toothbrushes, toothpaste, mild bar soap, combs, washcloths, etc.
OTHER: ;Individually wrapped hard candy and lollipops, mints, gum, T-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights, batteries, and plastic boxes.
Organ Concert – Readington Reformed Church: Sunday, October 19th, 4:30 p.m. This will be an inaugural concert of their new DMP Cathedral 360 organ. Refreshments will be served. You're invited!
Max Lucado will be at the Brooklyn Tabernacle with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir: This Sunday, October 12th from 3-5pm. If you would like to attend, please meet in the church parking lot around 12 noon after church and we will all carpool. We will have some lunch, once we arrive, before attending the event.
"Governor Livingston, I Presume": The first governor of New Jersey, acted by Bob Gleason, will speak at Harlingen Church on Wednesday, October 15th, 7:00 p.m. This event will be sponsored by the Van Harlingen Historical Society. You're invited! Free admission! For adults and children!
Ladies Out to Dinner: ALL Ladies are welcomed to this fun event on Wednesday, October 8th at 6:30pm—Old Man Rafferty’s in Hillsborough.
Collegewise: will host a program at Harlingen on Tuesday, October 7th from 7:00 – 8:30pm. The topic for the evening will be How to find the Right Colleges for You.
